People who have GC are "worried" about getting citizenship :). People who just came in, are worried about they PERM/140 approvals.

GC is all about luck. They should cancel the entire GC process and make it a "lottery" as that is what it is.

I can tell you there are roughly 100,000 labor applications filed (50,000 EB3) between Aug 2003 and Dec 2003 for EB India category. The reason was everybody wanted to clear thru regular process before PERM takes over. Those Labors filed after Aug 2003 and before PERM started are moved into backlog and are fully cleary last 4 th quarter. And so 90% of those EB3s may be still there (45,000) hanging. EB2s could have been cleared substantially till Dec 2003. It is all my guess work and not sceintific or factual. also ..this looks very inaccurate ..because I know lot of indians who got H1 during the peak (when h1 was 195k) have gone back. i.e either they got better oppurtunities back home or just went back as they were not getting jobs. I did stay in one of the guest house which had lots of consultants ..none of them are here anymore !!

My PR card in Canada was not issued; they rejected the photos I submitted with the original application. Now they're asking I submit new ones in PERSON!
I will need to get a Canadian Travel document now to re-enter Canada now. Does anyone know how long it takes to get that issued?
Plus, Since I'm using AP as well the whole re-entering the US with the Canadian Visas in my passport is once again an issue. I'm considering giving up on the PR card, since I've technically already completed my landing; I can re-apply for the PR card if and when I decide to move to Canada permanently. Can you guys advise?

I would request IV core team to concentrate on new bill or some way for relief to skilledworkers like us. I dont think waiting until end of July is good option here. It is certain that CIR is not going to be there for this year..whole US world is thinking of same.

What the other post said is very true. We have 45000 members in this board, a significant majority of them are EB3. Even if 50% of the members 22000 (as an example ) contributed 25$ each, IV would have more than half a million bucks. With this money EB backlog plight could easily come out in mainstream media. Just because you, as a person, contributed does not mean all of EB people are contributing. Realizing our problem is the first step in solving it. Problem is people are not willing to contribute to IV, either their money or time, but want issues solved. Doesn't work that way..

Even If 11.25K (EB2)+11.25K (EB3) = 22.5 K (Total) contributes $25 Each Problems gets solved ... but the catch is ....
Even 11.25 K EB2 members are not contributing because they don't have to as their problem is solved

Hi,
Can someone explain the process of using AC21 for self employment? I have searched the web without much luck. If someone can throw some light on this topic along with how to deal with issues that come up with AC21 and self employment I would really appreciate it.

Check out www.shusterman.com and it has a section on AC 21 180 day portability. There you will find all the USCIS memos regarding this topic (starting from 2001 to 2003 and the 2 memos in 2005). The last memo from December 2005 addresses the issue and the way I understand it, it means you can have self employment while waiting for the final approval. But you still have to have an employer at the time of final approval of I 485 in the job category mentioned in LC and I 140.

It gets interesting. Doesn't it? Even if the court agrees that this is a fiasco and would like to compensate the beneficiaries by allowing us to file for 485, it would be in direct violation of the law that " there must be a number available on the day of filing ".We don't have any numbers. Do we? My point is, will a judicial system go out of the box and allow us to file when there are no visa numbers available? The only way is get numbers and make every one file and the only way for that is to undo what the USCIS has done in the last 2 weeks of June. Just my thoughts. I am ready to take anything positive out of this because I have least hopes pegged on the law suit.

Holy cow... I cannot believe, I got my green card today...
My online case status changed to card production ordered today (1 hour ago).
I had filed during july fiasco and was not abel to send my medical tests , so had got RFE.
Then i took the medicals and sent the response in july 2009, and the status remained RFE response received for a long time.
I called NSC and opened a service request on Aug 18.
Guys believe me Service Request does miracles, they just approved it now.
So my journey came to an end after 7 years.
If I got green card, the whole credit goes to IV. You guys are really great, learnt a lot from this forum. Kudos to you all...
I will continue to visit these forums and help as much as I can.

I am happy to report that we got our approvals. No SMS, no emails, no status change. Infact, our online status still shows RFE review. We got welcome notices yesterday and that's how we came to know about approvals. Got LUD on an old H1B on 8/14/2010.

Just got update from my layer that they have received 6 RN's for me and my wife. I filed our AOS on 9th-July-2007 at NSC. My I-140 was filed at NSC last year but it was not approved at the time of my AOS filing. Last week I also got my I-140 approved. I am on EB2.
Wish everybody get their RN's soon.. It should be just matter of days.

I think EB3 India will move to Dec 2004 by end of this year. (crossing my finger and praying hope this will come true)
By the end of this year If they haven't made any significant movement in EB3 India We should seriously look into filling a lawsuit for country discrimination. Seriously I'm surprised no one is looking into filling a lawsuit for this endless country based discrimination.
I can't think of any other solution for this mess. Watching the house hearing made me sick they can't even differentiate GC visa and H1B visa.
