Please DO NOT join this selfish effort aimed at fixing the country limits till MIRAGE gets his green card.

Removal of country limits temporarily and permanently, will both require the support of the majority of both houses of the congress. It will require as much effort to to remove country limits temporarily as it will require to remove country limits permanently.
Some folks here just wants to remove country limits till the time they get their agree card i.e. for the span of 2 years. If removal of country limits is good for EB community and America, then why only remove it for 2 years ONLY.
Such a campaign is likely to divide this community. PLEASE DO NOT divide the community by supporting this mis-directed agenda.
If country caps can be removed temporarily then they can be removed permanently. But asking for less than what key lawmakers have already proposed less than 6 months back is like shooting ourselves in the foot. PLEASE DO NOT throw others under the bus. PLEASE!!!!

I have been calling USCIS for the last 5 weeks.Today they gaveme my receipt number only for I-765 and not for others.These were porcessed on Sep18.i have not had the receipt in hand.
My checks are also not cashed at this time .Is some one in the same sitiuation as I am.

The thing is that I feel bad for IV when people start screaming and yelling at them. IV is not responsible for passing these legislation. They don't even realize that if there was no IV, July fiasco would have resulted in lot of people not getting their 485 filed. So many people would have so far not been able to use AC21 and change jobs. They are just sitting and posting out their suggestions. IV needs members who can help them in their cause and strengthen the organization. They have no right to yell or scream despite not even contributing a single minute to the cause. I still believe that we better have couple of members who we know and can count to volunteer rather than a blog where people throw fancy suggestions and vent out. That is the reason for me being advocating for paid site. If not paid, then activate membership through state chapters. Have state leadership activate their membership based on their contribution for this blog. At least we know that they are contributing to the cause by money or time. I am seriously disgusted by seeing so many irrelevant postings on this site which has nothing to do with immigration and people spending hours blogging, rather than contributing couple of minutes with their state chapters.

Wonder if you happened to mention the time line question? One section in the "Guest Worker" chapter says it can not be implemented 90s before the study, would that only cover the "Guest Worker" section or the whole bill? The house will try their best to push an enforcement first approach, if they gain more on that, then we might end up with a bill passed but never take effect. That would be the worst situation.
Today I spoke to a Representative who deals with immigration issue at Sen Mike Dewine's (R-OH) office. I spoke to him for 15 minutes to understand what he and his senator think about this CIR.
Here is he and his senator feels about this bill. It is difficult for him to say that when CIR bill will be introduced in senate floor . It depend on Majority and Minority leaders to decide. Majority leader told to the media that he will introduce before the end of the may, he is mostly consistent, but there are several bills where he has committed a timeline and till today it is not on the floor.

Western govts. understand only one language, that is lawsuits. Everything else is taken as sucking up to them and weakness. The Indian community in UK has been successful by means of lawsuits. Although I am a big fan and supporter of IV, I think the option of taking lawsuit off the table has hurt us more than it has helped us. Why are we paying $25K for FOIA when no information has come out of it? Instead we should file a grand lawsuit? All information we are expecting from FOIA would be forced to be shared in lawsuit anyway.
I know of one such lawsuit by Mr Rajeev Khanna in 2003, although the lawsuit failed, the speed of 485 processing increased sharply soon after. We have to make bold choices as a community.
The worldwide message of Obama administration being blamed of discrimination from a president whose community was discriminated against is not something white house would be proud of.
Although I do not expect justice in american justice system, at the very least we can send a strong message across to the larger Indian community that would be watching worldwide.
The message is getting stronger in India that Obama administration is anti India for no fault of India and we can make an all out effort using media, lawsuit and everything else in our means to settle the issue once for all.

I have filed to NSC on August 2nd. Reached the cenetr on August 3rd. I see that many plp filed after me got RN's..anyone else in the same situation as me.

Hey guys
My PR card in Canada was not issued; they rejected the photos I submitted with the original application. Now they're asking I submit new ones in PERSON!
I will need to get a Canadian Travel document now to re-enter Canada now. Does anyone know how long it takes to get that issued?
Plus, Since I'm using AP as well the whole re-entering the US with the Canadian Visas in my passport is once again an issue. I'm considering giving up on the PR card, since I've technically already completed my landing; I can re-apply for the PR card if and when I decide to move to Canada permanently. Can you guys advise?

Before it was rare now they are just getting more difficult. California rfe's are a little difficult and unless y you make sloppy mistakes; they generally approve them.
vermont is where they are going above and beyond in scrutinizing cases. Most companies who file through california are used to the issues and have adapted. However; what vermont is doing is fairly new and companies in vermont region are not used to the expectations of that particular service center since they were very easy in the past.

I got a response from Tier2 officer that there are no Visa numbers available. She was pretty pissed that there hell a lot of indians calling and was close to making it racial. She read from a report that DOS sent to USCIS (page 31 is what she quoted) where she said there are no Visa numbers available. I am assuming its for this month.
