Hello IVans,
My employer did not pay for I485 expenses (USCIS fees, Lawyer expenses and Medical exam expenses). I paid all these expenses out of my pocket. Today one of my friends told me that these expenses could qualify as tax-deductible expenses. I have my doubts, but want to get you thoughts.

My mom, after watching "Shankara Baranam" extended a technique to my memorizing the multiplication tables. She would wake me up early in the morning, and I had to memorize my tables sitting under the back light of my house. I did not like doing it, but it sure helped me memorize my tables faster! My mom believes that I remember my tables to this day because of her.
My younger brother (who was around 4) would wake up a little while later, and check on me to see whether I was studying or sleeping. He definitely would run to tell my mom if i was dozing off!! I probably was more angry with him (then) than with my mom. My brother does not remember much of this, but we do talk about the whole incidence as a joke!

That is to frighten you. US law : You can leave anytime. Indian law ? maybe they can take u to court and pin you down - but they have to serve u ...and u r in US

Few of my friends havent informed.
Please read posts above. There is no need to send anything to USCIS unless asked.

"Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen and Loewy, LLP" are doing my H1-B transfer and I had a good experience dealing with them so far (though brief).
Only thing is for GC I am little reluctant due to their PERM cases being the traget of audit
Why do u need them for gc ? Your 485 is already pending.

Freakin_GC,
I am in the same boat as you. My wife was born in another country besides India, hence the Cross Chargeability. However our (Wife and my) 485s have been filed already. I am not sure how to get into the ROW boat.
All I can offer now is that I'll post whatever I hear from my lawyer. Let me know what you can find from your end.

yeah she is second generation Indo S.African (another 3rd world country). Will you please let how to change country of chargeability with out talking to any immigration attorney
citizenry does not matter...but country of Birth does..If she was Born in SA..then u can change ur chargability.

No there is no premium processing process for waiver applications. There seems to be no apparent order in the order they are adjudicated. Once the Department of State recommends you for a waiver you may apply for H1B change of status with the recommendation alone. If ur H1B application is filed for premium processing then the USCIS might adjudicate the waiver within 15 days as part of the h1b processing.

This is going to be an issue for lot of folks who all filed for I-485 in the last year July fiasco. We will be forced renew every time. Only by giving 2 years is just a temporary postponement but not solving the real problem.
It is like Drivers Lincense renewal. If you have your documentation and you have been driving legally should be granted renewal instantly. Why can't they do the same thing with EAD?
